Field Trip #2: Camping & Hiking at Hocking Hills August 1, 2011

The second field trip we took last week was a 3 day camping & hiking trip at Hocking Hills, in Central Ohio.  This area is a fantastic display of the very best of Ohio…high cliffs, deep gorgeous, gorgeous waterfalls, lush green forests, and beautiful wildlife.  The hikes vary in difficulty (and safety…).  We went on everything from the ADA Accesible Ash Cave hike (which is an easier one to do with young children) to the more risky hike to Old Man’s Cave, the Lower Falls, and the steep climb out.  But, the we all had a blast, and loved being surrounded with nature!

Jedi decided he wanted a hiking stick, so he started sanding one that we found at the campsite.

Monkey also wanted to make a hiking stick.
