Barefoot in Suburbia

Homeschooling & Special Needs, Inspired by the Montessori Way

Montessori Monday, Sunday edition July 18, 2010

Filed under: Preschool — Barefoot in Suburbia @ 7:21 pm

Monday’s going to be pretty busy with La Leche League and Vacation Bible School, so I’m getting this post out a little early this week (but only by a couple hours! )

Jedi is 6 years 7 months old & Monkey is 3 years 5 months old

Jedi, trying to cut a piece of wood in half with his saw

Jedi is into recycled crafts lately. He worked really hard making this ship out of bottles & boxes he found in the recycling bin

Another view of his ship

Monkey, playing a game with the nature color sorting

Trying her hand at the pressure cylinders. We actually only do 2 sets at a time right now, but she really wanted to try the whole set once.

Working with the sound boxes. She had just started with two sets, but she wanted to hear what all of them sounded like once.

Working with all 4 sets of knobbed cylinders. Monkey thought it was funny to sit in the middle of the square for this!

Not really a pure Montessori work, but she wanted to work with the geometric board that was out for Bitty Bug.

Working with magnets

I love the picture of Monkey sitting in the knobbed cylinder square – how cute! Thanks for linking up. 🙂
