Homeschooling & Special Needs, Inspired by the Montessori Way

Our recent finds! July 13, 2010

Filed under: Preschool,Toddler learning — Barefoot in Suburbia @ 8:21 am

This weekend, we were out shopping and saw a couple school supply sales.  We found some fantastic deals on things that would be very helpful for us!

Mich@els had these photo boxes, originally $4.50 each, on sale for 3 for $5. We picked up 6 of them to use as Monkey's continent boxes. We'll fill each box with some items from each continent (antarctica will be combined with one of the other boxes)

All of the rest of the stuff we found at T@rget's dollar spot. These little foam pieces are perfect for sorting, stacking, and counting.

This calender is now in the school room--all of the pieces are removable!

We found tons of flash cards there--we bought 2 sets of each, so that we can make 3 part nomenclature cards.

More flashcards turned nomenclature cards

The books we found at the dollar spot

We also picked up several plastic trays/bins for the Montessori shelves, also at the T@ rget dollar spot.  So if you’re looking to pick some up, that would be a good place to check!
